「at the end」と「in the end」の違い
「at the end」の意味は
「突き当たりに、終わりに、終了時」
です。
I’ll go to Japan at the end of the month.
私は、月の終わりに日本に行くだろう。
「in the end」の意味は
「ついに、とうとう、結局は、終わりに」
です。
I graduate from high school in the end of next month.
私は来月の終わりに高校を卒業します。
「at the end」と「in the end」の違いですが、
「at the end」は、時間的な順序や話しの終わりや物理的な場所の終わりを強調したい場合に、使われます。
「in the end」は、結果や結論、一連の出来事の結果などを強調したい場合に、使われます。
例えば、一日の最後に、歯を磨いて寝たという場合は、「at the end」を使い、苦戦をしたけど最後は勝ったという場合には、「in the end」を使います。
